A couple years ago author John Green said, “I find my gut to be unreliable on many levels." That statement stuck with me because I find myself to often be much more of an emotional being rather than a logical one. I don’t know about you, but I spend a lot of days with anxious butterflies in my stomach. For me, living with mental illness means I can’t always trust my own intuition and I need to listen to other voices in my life to make informed decisions. This piece forces me to look inside and see what parts of me or my personality aren’t serving me well instead of blindly trusting my tendencies.
