Lungs

This piece means a lot of different things to different people including myself. I had created it during a season of feeling abundant blessings around me. I represented those people and places with the plants and animals I chose to include. But the story behind this piece, and really what sparked this entire collection, started during a time of a lot of uncertainty and questions. I was reading The Eternal Current by Aaron Niequist and he said something about God (or the Divine) being closer than the very air we breathe. That idea inspired me to draw my first set of lungs which eventually led me to this form of mediation on what it means to be in a body.

This set of lungs in particular is titled Inhale Blessing and was inspired by a meditation I was listening to at the time that said something about "Inhale blessing, exhale fear."
